Definición de...

..."hacerlo tuyo": dícese de copiar inmisericordemente una pintura, poesía, música...de otro autor, y empeorarla.

Me encanta esta frase cuando la leo en las críticas de las exposiciones: "Fulanito ha hecho suya 'Las Meninas' y da una nueva dimensión bla bla bla...". Vamos, que ha copiado "Las Meninas" y le ha salido un churro. Así que cuando lo he visto en el documental (que, por cierto, es muy recomendable: está dedicado al arte abstracto y dirigido por un ferviente partidario de la abstracción y aparecen todos los grandes de la época) me moría de la risa.


A definition of "...making it your own": relative to the fact of copying without mercy a painting, poem, music of another artist, and making it worse.

I love this sentence when I read in the newspapers' exhibition critics: "John Smith has made its own "Las Meninas" and adds a new dimension blah blah blah...". Translation: he has copied "Las Meninas" and has failed miserably. So, when I watched the doc and heard this (it is, by the way, highly recomended: it is dedicated to abstract art and directed by a fan of abstraction) I laughed a lot.
